Australian Wooden Boat Festival
The Australian Wooden Boat festival comes to Hobart, Tasmania every two years, on the odd numbered years so it will be happening this year, this month, this coming weekend; Feb 10th – 13th 2017
The Hobart waterfront comes alive with music, food, entertainment, activities for all interests, and of course, everything to do with boats of the wooden variety. Some of the fancier ones you can’t believe are even made of wood but that is the requirement for all boats on display at this event. Everything from tiny, intricate model boats to magnificent tall ships.
The festival takes over all of Sullivan Cove, from Hunter St. to Princes Wharf near Salamanca. It opens on the Friday with the “Parade of Sail” on our beautiful Derwent River and all weekend there will be non-stop activities related to our rich maritime history and modern day boating.
The Australian Wooden Boat Festival is on from 10am this weekend. Feb 10th -13th.
Come and enjoy this vibrant waterfront festival in the heart of Hobart.
